No models, chairside pickups, or PVS records necessary. ArchBridge for Overdenture is a fully digital scanning system that enables the lab to place housings accurately in the prosthesis using digital data alone. This data is captured by six reusable, distinct, titanium scan bodies designed for overdenture and LOCATOR FIXED cases.

ROE began this project after repeatedly receiving overdenture cases in which the attachment position could not be confidently determined from the submitted digital data. An edentulous arch offers the scanner almost nothing to reference — and identical scan bodies give it nothing more.

Rather than adapt an existing scan body, we designed the ArchBridge geometries and libraries around the attachment itself. The six scan bodies are six distinct shapes, not one shape repeated, so each attachment is individually identifiable in the scan. Many current IOS scanners recognize the geometries and register them automatically during scanning.

No chairside pickup or analog records - all digital

Attachment positions are transferred digitally and accurately. ROE positions and cures the overdenture housings under controlled laboratory conditions. No intraoral acrylic or block-out. No more rework when a housing binds or a spacer shifts during cure.

Textured titanium surface - ease of scanning

A defined sandblasted scanning surface reduces reflection and supports reliable optical capture. Each scan body is cleaned and steam-sterilized between patients rather than discarded.

Six unique designs - no ghosting

Apollo, Bixby, Chaumont, Dragon, Hellgate, and Rialto span the arch in a way that avoids scanner confusion. Their sizes allows user to work with limited space, ridge form, attachment spacing and adjacent anatomy.

Direct 1:1 interface - predictable

The scan bodies press-fit directly to the overdenture abutments, including LOCATOR FIXED, via the Zest Processing Spacer (the only single-use component in the intraoral sequence). Tactile seating will confirm scanning is ready.

Implant-supported overdentures provide predictable improvements in retention, stability, function, and patient satisfaction compared with conventional complete dentures. However, conventional prosthetic workflows may require multiple impressions, casts, jaw relation records, and laboratory procedures.

Although digital dentistry has simplified many restorative procedures, complete-arch implant scanning remains challenging because edentulous arches provide limited stable landmarks for image stitching.

This article describes the clinical application of the ArchBridge™ digitally integrated workflow system as a fully digital, model-free workflow for fabrication of an implant-supported overdenture that can be utilized as a removable or fixed prosthesis.
