ArchBridge for Overdenture is a fully digital scanning system designed specifically for both fixed and removable overdenture cases. It utilizes the geometries of six reusable titanium scan-bodies to capture attachment position as digital data, so that the overdenture housings are accurately placed in the prosthesis by the laboratory, without the need for traditional models, analogs, and PVS records!

ROE began this project after repeatedly receiving overdenture cases in which the attachment position could not be confidently determined from the submitted digital data. An edentulous arch offers a IOS scanner almost nothing to reference, and having scan bodies that are all identical causes its own set of challenges when scanning the arch.

Rather than adapt an existing scan body, we designed the ArchBridge geometries and libraries around the attachment itself. ArchBridge for Overdentures incorporates six distinct scan body shapes rather than just one, repeated. This patent-pending technology facilitates predictable and accurate IOS scanning, which is especially necessary when scanning an edentulous arch.

No chairside pickup or analog records - all digital

Attachment positions are transferred digitally and accurately. ROE positions and cures the overdenture housings under controlled lab conditions. This eliminates the challenging procedure of a chairside blockout and intraoral acrylic pickup of housings. No more rework when a housing binds or a spacer shifts during cure.

Textured titanium surface - ease of scanning

A defined sandblasted scanning surface reduces reflection and supports reliable optical capture. Each scan body is cleaned and steam-sterilized between patients rather than discarded.

Six unique designs - no ghosting

Apollo, Bixby, Chaumont, Dragon, Hellgate, and Rialto span the arch in a way that avoids scanner confusion. Their sizes allow the user to work with limited space, ridge form, attachment spacing, and adjacent anatomy.

Direct 1:1 interface - predictable

The scan bodies press-fit directly to the overdenture abutments, via the scan body inserts (the only single-use component in the intraoral sequence). Tactile seating will confirm scanning is ready.

Implant-supported overdentures provide predictable improvements in retention, stability, function, and patient satisfaction compared with conventional complete dentures. However, conventional prosthetic workflows may require multiple impressions, casts, jaw relation records, and laboratory procedures.

Although digital dentistry has simplified many restorative procedures, complete-arch implant scanning remains challenging because edentulous arches provide limited stable landmarks for image stitching.

This article describes the clinical application of the ArchBridge™ digitally integrated workflow system as a fully digital, model-free workflow for fabrication of an implant-supported overdenture that can be utilized as a removable or fixed prosthesis.
