Course Description
This webinar addresses one of the fastest-growing challenges in implant dentistry: revision of existing full arch cases. As more patients present with prior prosthetics that have failed or worn out, few clinicians are certain how to treat them. Alan Banks, President of GuidedSMILE, walks through real revision cases completed alongside Dr. Casto's team, showing how to diagnose the right approach for each patient and execute it with accurate, screw-retained surgical guides.
Attendees will learn how thorough records, prosthetic space analysis, and pre-planned engineering allow doctors to place implants exactly as planned, stabilize the case during surgery, and deliver predictable, confident outcomes.
Course Objectives
- Define a revision case and recognize the clinical triggers that signal a patient needs retreatment.
- Evaluate a patient's candidacy for transitioning to fixed, including prosthetic space, vertical dimension, and lip support.
- Select and capture the appropriate records for each scenario using checklists to ensure accuracy before planning.
- Apply guided surgery protocols to place implants and fixation between existing implants with screw-retained guides.
- Improve predictability by leaving existing implants in place for stabilization and pre-engineering each case from the teeth down.
