Which patients are ideal candidates for the CLEARsplint™, and what should I consider?

The CLEARsplint™ is a versatile appliance, but certain patient profiles benefit most from its specific properties.

Patient profile Why the CLEARsplint™ fits
Severe bruxers The stronger modified composite formulation is built for maximum durability
Patients with material sensitivities Amine-free and MMA-free chemistry suits patients allergic to acrylics or metals
Image-conscious or daytime wearers Optically clear and virtually unnoticeable, with comfortable speech and minimal saliva stimulation
Patients needing repositioning The appliance can incorporate ramps and guide planes for mandibular repositioning
Patients who want appliance longevity Designed for enhanced longevity versus traditional nightguards, and engineered to resist yellowing

Considerations to keep in mind:

  • The appliance is effective for both day and night bruxism management, so confirm with the patient when and how often they will wear it.
  • The material is heat-responsive by design, so include warm-water-only handling guidance and caution patients against high-heat exposure.
  • If the treatment plan involves a specific therapeutic mandibular position, document the ramps or guide planes clearly in the prescription so the lab can build them to plan.
  • For unusual occlusal schemes or complex cases, ROE's certified technicians can provide case planning support; reach out through Customer Service or Chairside Support.
