What records do I need to submit, and how do I send an Apex Flex case to ROE?

Apex Flex is a fully digital workflow, so the quality of your intraoral scan determines the quality of the finished partial. The fabrication process for the major denture types is similar. What differs between denture types is predominantly the data you submit for design.

Required records

Record Requirement
Full-arch scans Upper, lower, and bite
Export format Scans exported in occlusion, the default export for most scanners, which eliminates the need for a separate bite scan
Soft tissue and dentition Complete capture of soft tissue and all remaining dentition
Base shade Standard Pink or Light Pink
Tooth shade A1, A2, Bleach, or B1
Treatment planning notes Note any teeth planned for future extraction or implant placement

Scanning tips that prevent remakes

  • Perform a full scan of the existing dentition, fully capturing both the gums and the teeth.
  • Do not over-smooth the tissue scan. Aggressive smoothing removes the undercut detail that flexible clasps rely on for retention.
  • Capture the full extent of the vestibule and frenal attachments so the design team can build appropriate relief.
  • Flag any mobile abutments, recent restorations, or planned extractions in your notes so the design accounts for them.

How to submit

You can send an Apex Flex case to ROE through any of the following:

  1. Send a case to ROE 
  2. Submit online through your ROE account, where you can write up the case, print or save the Rx, track status, and message the lab.
  3. Through your intraoral scanner's portal, searching for ROE Dental Lab.
  4. By shipping physical records with a printed Rx.

If you are an existing ROE customer and need an online account set up, email info@roedentallab.com. An incomplete Rx will delay processing, so confirm shade selections and treatment notes before submitting.
