What is the minimum zirconia thickness required around Passivity Plus™?

Passivity Plus™ does not require any special thickness considerations beyond normal prosthetic design parameters. You should follow standard CAD software framework design rules (e.g., Exocad) for full-arch zirconia restorations. The adjustable cap shell is engineered to integrate seamlessly with conventional zirconia framework thickness protocols, so there's no need to adjust your design workflow when switching to Passivity Plus™.

This is part of Passivity Plus™'s universal compatibility design philosophy. It works with any record-capture method (scanning, photogrammetry, grammetry, stone models) and any framework material (zirconia, titanium, PMMA, hybrid), which means existing CAD design protocols carry over without modification. Design Guidance at a Glance

Design Consideration Guidance for Passivity Plus™
Framework material Compatible with zirconia, titanium, PMMA, and hybrid materials
Minimum zirconia thickness Standard CAD design rules apply (no special requirement)
Software Designed in Exocad using standard full-arch protocols
Cap shell integration Engineered to fit within conventional framework thickness ranges
Stress accommodation The self-adjusting mechanism absorbs stress that would otherwise concentrate in the framework, reducing the demand on bulk material strength

Why This Matters

Because the self-adjusting mechanism absorbs stress that would otherwise concentrate in the prosthesis framework, Passivity Plus™ actually helps protect zirconia frameworks from the stress-induced fracture risk associated with non-passive fit. Standard thickness protocols are sufficient because the system reduces, rather than increases, the structural demands placed on the framework material. Roedentallab

Bottom Line

Design your zirconia framework as you normally would. Passivity Plus™ integrates with existing CAD parameters and does not require additional bulk, special undercuts, or modified design rules.
