Troubleshooting, pricing, and case support for Apex Flex

Common issues and corrective actions

Issue Likely cause Corrective action
Partial seats but retention feels loose Tissue scan was over-smoothed, removing the undercut detail that flexible clasps rely on Rescan without aggressive smoothing and resubmit. Contact ROE before remaking so a technician can review the original file
Partial will not seat passively or binds on insertion A severe undercut is blocking the path of insertion Perform optional enameloplasty of the blocking undercut, or contact a ROE Certified Dental Technician to review the path of insertion
Localized sore spot after delivery Insufficient relief over a frenum or an area of movable mucosa Relieve the specific area, then re-polish at low speed. Avoid broad intaglio adjustment
Rough or matte surface after chairside adjustment Adjusted surface was not re-polished Re-polish through the full sequence at low speed. A glossy surface resists plaque, staining, and micro-cracking
Denture stays dull after polishing Residual mineral oil and polishing paste in the interproximals Use a new Robinson #11 wheel with medium to heavy pressure through all interproximal areas, then steam or rinse and dry
Wheel burns or marks the surface during polishing Wheel dried out or speed was too high Keep the wheel wet at all times and polish at low speed at every stage
Support stumps remain on the appliance Incomplete support removal Twist supports away, use a support snipper if needed, then remove stumps at low RPM with an abrasive wheel or carbide burr and make a full pass along the occlusion
Teeth debond during in-house assembly Socket not fully covered with base resin, uneven pressure, or the wrong cure cycle Cover each socket completely, press with level pressure, tack cure under pressure, then run the "Apex Flex Denture" cycle. Use "Conventional Denture" if combining two different resin lines
Clasp arm feels weak or overly flexible Clasp base was thinned during adjustment Avoid reducing thickness at the clasp base. Contact ROE for a redesign rather than compensating chairside
Patient lost or fractured the appliance Normal attrition or trauma ROE archives the digital design file, so remakes, replacements, and modifications are faster and more predictable than starting from new impressions

These codes cover the flexible base along with retentive and clasping materials, rests, and teeth. Coverage, frequency limitations, and reimbursement vary by payer and plan, so verify benefits with the patient's carrier before treatment.
