How is an Apex Flex partial denture fabricated?
When you send an Apex Flex case to ROE, the lab handles design, fabrication, finishing, and polishing. The workflow below reflects the validated SprintRay protocol documented in the Apex Flex Complete Workflow guide that ROE makes available on the product page. It is useful context for understanding what you receive, and it is the required protocol for practices printing Apex Flex in-house on their own SprintRay equipment.
Stage 1: Design
The scan data is used to design the partial, including the denture area, the teeth, and the clasps. The design defines saddle thickness, flexible clasp zones, and relief over frena and movable mucosa. Designs are reviewed and approved before fabrication begins, and revision requests can be handled during this stage.
Stage 2: Print
The Pro 2 Duo Kit allows the base and the teeth to be printed in a single job, which typically runs about 40 minutes. Without a Duo Kit, the base and teeth are printed as two sequential jobs.

Setup sequence: install and lock the Duo Kit build platform, install the Duo Kit tank cradle and then the tanks, and fill one tank with Apex Flex Base and the other with Apex Teeth resin before starting the job.
Stage 3: Wash
Transfer the build platform to the SprintRay wash device using the Duo Kit adapter, run a standard cleaning cycle, then remove the base and teeth from the Duo Kit platform.
Stage 4: Assemble and bond
This is the step that distinguishes Apex Flex from mechanically retained partials. The teeth are chemically bonded to the base:
- Use a syringe or applicator to cover each socket with denture base resin.
- Press the teeth and base firmly together, applying level pressure.
- Continue applying pressure while tack curing the teeth and base together with a gooseneck or handheld curing light.
Stage 5: Post cure
Place the assembled denture in the SprintRay curing device and select the "Apex Flex Denture" cycle, then follow the onscreen instructions.
Important: If the denture is being created from two different resin lines, select "Conventional Denture" on the NanoCure instead and follow the onscreen instructions for assembly and curing.
Stage 6: Remove supports
Carefully twist supports away from the denture teeth. Use a support snipper if they do not come away easily. If the denture base has any support bars, remove them with snippers.
The appliance is then smoothed, polished, cleaned, and disinfected before delivery. See FAQ 6 for the full finishing protocol.
