How do I adjust, polish, repair, or add attachments to a titanium partial?

Titanium partials fit into the procedures most offices already use.

  • Clinical procedures: no changes required. Use the same impression techniques, rest preparations, clasp and major-connector design principles, and chairside adjustment techniques (with appropriate burs).
  • Polishing: use the same polishing kits, rubber points, and rubber wheels already used for other titanium components such as implant bars. No special equipment is needed, and clinicians who work with implant components will find it familiar.
  • Attachment systems: all the same attachment and clasp retention systems used with chrome-cobalt work with titanium. The only difference is the soldering technique used to connect attachments, which is handled by the lab.
  • Repairs and additions: titanium partials can be repaired and modified just like chrome-cobalt. Because the additions require titanium-specific setup and technique, send the partial back to ROE, where technicians are trained to work with titanium.
