Why aren't implants, MUAs, or temp cylinders aligning through the Carrier Guide?
| Finding | Cause & correction |
|---|---|
| Implants not protruding directly under/through the sites | Could mean the Pin Guide wasn't seated correctly, an angled implant is too deep/shallow (changing the connection position), or a hand-placed implant took a different path. Take an x-ray to verify position and judge whether to move or leave it. If acceptable, the fix is to modify the Carrier Guide and prosthetic for pick-up — making sure the temp cylinders do not contact the Carrier Guide or prosthetic during pick-up. |
| Angled implants / MUAs / temp cylinders not aligning through the holes | First verify implant position visually through the Carrier Guide. If position is good, the angled implant may be in the wrong rotation. Rotate it a few degrees to "right" the MUA and temp cylinder. Confirm the abutment screw lines up with the black square (the driver path). The best course is to deliver the implant exactly as the hex on the Osteotomy Guide indicates; if needed, remove the MUA and reseat one rotation clockwise or counterclockwise. |
