What should I consider when choosing GuidedSMILE Lite, and what are its trade-offs?
GuidedSMILE Lite is built to broaden access to guided full-arch treatment, and choosing it is mainly a question of matching the cost profile and design needs to the case.
Reasons to choose GuidedSMILE Lite:
- The case is budget-conscious and a more affordable guide system is a priority.
- An FP3 final design (full prosthetic gingiva) fits the patient's smile and esthetic needs.
- An Ivotion PMMA final is acceptable, with the knowledge that an upgrade to zirconia or nano-ceramic is available on request.
Trade-offs to keep in mind:
- GuidedSMILE Lite uses plastic guides rather than the cobalt-chromium metal used in the flagship system. ROE notes that the metal CoCr guides are engineered for high strength and rigidity, which is part of what the premium systems offer.
- Lite is offered in the FP3 design option only, whereas systems such as CHROME GuidedSMILE Full (FP3 / FP2) and GuidedSMILE Zygo (FP3 / FP2 / FP1) offer more design flexibility.
When to consider a different family member instead:
| Clinical Need | Consider Instead |
|---|---|
| High smile line or gummy smile, FP1 final | GuidedSMILE Natural |
| Zygomatic or pterygoid implants, minimal maxillary bone | GuidedSMILE Zygo |
| Premium zirconia or nano-ceramic final, FP3 / FP2 options | CHROME GuidedSMILE Full Package |
Because the right choice depends on the patient's anatomy, esthetic goals, and budget, ROE's planning team can help match the case to the appropriate system. You can start that conversation through a 1-on-1 personal introduction.
