What shade format should I use?

When specifying shades on your prescription, please provide complete shade notation to ensure accuracy. Standard formats include designations such as A2, B1, C3, or A3.5. These complete notations give our technicians the precise information needed to match your patient's restoration.

Incomplete shade notations can cause confusion and may result in your case being placed on hold for clarification. For example, "2N" is incomplete and would require clarification to determine whether you mean 2M1, 2M2, or 2M3.

Please also note that some materials have limited shade options. For instance, Ocion is only available in A1, A2, A3, A3.5, B1, and BL2. If you specify a shade that is not available for a particular material, our team will contact you to discuss the closest available option.

When in doubt about available shades for a specific material, please call us and we will provide guidance.
