What records does ROE need for an e.max veneer case, and how do I submit it?

Required records

Record Requirement Why ROE needs it
Impression Traditional or digital, both accepted Captures the prepared teeth and the arch
Prepared teeth Clear capture of every margin Undefined margins force guesswork on fit
Opposing model Full opposing arch Establishes the functional envelope
Bite registration Required Without it, occlusion is estimated, not designed
Shade Target shade, VITA 3D-Master Defines the finish target

The records that are technically optional but practically essential

ROE's technicians are explicit that these three items make the difference between a good veneer case and a great one:

  • Photos. Multiple angles, natural lighting where possible. Photographs communicate characterization, texture, and value in a way a written shade tab number cannot.
  • Stump shades. This is the shade of the prepared tooth itself, not the target shade. Because e.max is translucent, the substrate influences the final result. Without a stump shade, the technician is designing blind to what sits underneath.
  • Any extra detail you can provide. Notes on the patient's expectations, functional concerns, characterization requests, or reference images.

Stump shade deserves special emphasis on veneer cases. A thin, translucent lithium disilicate laminate will transmit the color of whatever is beneath it. If the prep is darker than the technician assumes, the delivered veneer will read darker than the shade tab you specified, and the case comes back for a remake.

Shade matching support

If shade is complex, or if the patient is a difficult match, ROE offers a Patient Shade-in-Lab Service. You submit a scheduling form and ROE staff contacts your patient within 24 hours to arrange the appointment, so the shade is taken by a technician under lab conditions. A PDF version of the referral form is also available.

Before you submit: account status

Doctors must have an active ROE account to submit a case. New account creation can take up to 24 hours, so open the account in advance rather than on prep day. Non-active account submissions may cause delays.

You can also record standing material, contact, and finish preferences under Doctor Lab Preferences so they apply automatically to future cases.

Turnaround and scheduling the seat appointment

e.max veneers are 7 days in lab, and that figure excludes shipping in both directions. Schedule the patient's return using the Case Delivery Calculator rather than adding a week to the ship date. The case is estimated at 2 patient visits.
