What patient records are required for a GuidedSMILE Lite case?
GuidedSMILE Lite requires no additional records beyond ROE's standard full-arch record set. The same accurate, complete records that drive any CHROME GuidedSMILE case apply here, and record quality is critical because the surgery depends on these initial inputs.
The standard record set generally includes:
| Record Type | Notes |
|---|---|
| Photographs | A minimum of 6 views, including full-face and retracted occlusion images |
| Impressions or scans | Capture all land areas of the surgical arch (analog or digital) |
| Bite registration | Full occlusion or centric relation bite |
| CBCT | Uncompressed, multi-slice DICOM data of a complete arch |
The exact CBCT protocol (open bite versus dual scan) depends on the patient's dentition in the surgical arch. Edentulous arches typically follow a dual scan protocol with a scan appliance and radiopaque markers, while dentate arches typically use an open bite scan.
A few important cautions from ROE's record guidance:
- Incomplete or poor records are the leading cause of case delay.
- Digital impressions can miss landmarks such as the post dam area, hamular notches, and peripheral borders, so extra care is needed.
- Quadrant CBCT scans do not work for planning; a complete arch must be captured.
To confirm records before the patient leaves the chair, ROE offers real-time record verification. Full record requirements and per-scenario checklists are on the patient records page, and CBCT export help is available under Export CBCT.
