What is GuidedSMILE Zygo and which patients is it designed for?

GuidedSMILE Zygo is ROE Dental Laboratory's approach to planning and guiding zygomatic implants and other remote anchorage implants for full-arch maxillary rehabilitation. It applies the "prosthesis-down" philosophy of the CHROME GuidedSMILE family to cases where there is not enough conventional maxillary bone to support standard implants alone.

The system is built around a central idea: even when the apex of a zygomatic implant is placed by the surgeon, the coronal exit point can be controlled so that it lands in the correct restorative position for a prosthesis that can be delivered the day of surgery.

GuidedSMILE Zygo is most appropriate for the following patient situations.

Indication Why GuidedSMILE Zygo fits
Minimal maxillary bone Insufficient native bone for standard implants; remote anchorage is required
Zygomatic implant cases Anchorage in the zygomatic bone for the posterior maxilla
Pterygoid implant cases Posterior anchorage using pterygoid sites in combination with anterior implants
Combination cases Zygomatic or pterygoid implants planned alongside standard implants in one arch

ROE's experts plan the trajectory and position of the zygomatic and other remote anchorage implants, and the surgeon follows that plan while using their own clinical expertise to position the apices. ROE has completed hundreds of zygomatic and remote anchorage cases with this protocol.
