What if no shade was taken - can the lab match to adjacent teeth?

Yes, if no shade was taken at the patient's appointment, you can request that our laboratory match the restoration as closely as possible to adjacent teeth or to photos that were submitted with the case. Simply note on the prescription or tell us over the phone to "match as best as you can to what was sent."

Our experienced technicians will use the available reference materials—such as photos of the patient's smile or the adjacent teeth visible in scans—to determine the most appropriate shade match. If a try-in stage is part of the case workflow, the shade can be confirmed and adjusted at that time if needed.

If our technicians encounter any issues or have concerns about achieving an accurate match without a recorded shade, they will call your office to discuss options before proceeding.
