What if a retainer didn't fit and needs to be redone?

If a retainer does not fit properly, the first step is to determine whether it fits the model on which it was made. If the retainer does not fit the original model, please send both the retainer and the model back to our laboratory so we can adjust the retainer for a better fit.

If the retainer fits the model correctly but does not fit the patient, this indicates a discrepancy between the model and the patient's current anatomy. In this case, send the retainer back along with the original model, and submit a new model or digital scan for evaluation so we can fabricate a retainer that fits the patient accurately.

If you need to send the model separately from the retainer, please call our laboratory to notify us that the model is coming. You can also include a note on the prescription indicating that the model is on its way. Our team will note "model on the way" in the case file to ensure everything is processed together.
