What are zRc's clinical applications, and when should I choose it over other ROE crown options?

zRc is indicated across the full range of single and multi-unit fixed restorations:

Application Supported
Anterior crown
Anterior bridge
Posterior crown
Posterior bridge

While zRc can be used anteriorly, its strength-first, more-opaque profile makes it the first choice for posterior crowns and bridges and for any patient where durability outweighs maximum translucency.

Choosing between ROE's fixed restoration materials (flexural strength and relative pricing as published by ROE):

Material Best for Strength Esthetics Wear Price
zRc Posterior (and anterior) strength at a value price 1100 MPa ★★★☆☆ ★★★★★ $
TLZ (Zirconia + MiYO®) Strength plus translucency 1100 MPa ★★★★☆ ★★★★★ $
IPS e.max® Monolithic Translucent monolithic; anterior & bicuspid 530 MPa ★★★☆☆ ★★★★☆ $
IPS e.max® Layered Top-tier anterior esthetics 400 MPa ★★★★★ ★★★★☆ $$$$
PFZ Esthetic anterior, reduced opposing wear 250 MPa ★★★★★ ★★★★☆ $$$$
PFM Time-tested metal-ceramic 200 MPa ★★★☆☆ ★★★★☆ $$$
Full Cast Metal Maximum longevity, gentle on opposing teeth ★★☆☆☆ ★★★★★ $

*Price columns show ROE's published relative tiers, not dollar figures. For a unit quote, use ROE's pricing request form

Rule of thumb: Reach for zRc when strength and value lead the decision (posterior load-bearing units, parafunction). Step up to TLZ for comparable strength with better translucency and shade range, or to an e.max/PFZ option when an anterior case is esthetics-driven.
