What are the limitations, contraindications, and troubleshooting considerations for e.max veneers?

ROE lists e.max veneers for anterior veneers. They are an esthetic anterior solution and should be specified as such. If your case involves posterior units or full-coverage restorations, ROE's IPS e.max Monolithic, IPS e.max Layered, or zirconia crown options are the correct products to review instead.

The material choice is only half the conversation. Discuss occlusal protection. ROE fabricates several options, including CLEARguard, CLEARsplint, and miniComfort. Protecting the investment is a reasonable part of the treatment plan.

Longevity expectations to set with the patient

The published evidence supports 96.8% survival at 10.4 years for lithium disilicate veneers, drawn from a 2024 systematic review of 29 studies. That is a strong number, and it is worth communicating to patients who are weighing the investment.

It is equally worth being clear that this figure comes from appropriately selected, well-executed cases. Survival depends on case selection, preparation quality, bonding technique, and the patient's functional habits. A veneer placed on a heavy bruxer without occlusal protection is not the case the meta-analysis describes.
