How is GuidedSMILE Lite different from CHROME GuidedSMILE and the other family products?
The biggest distinction is the guide material. GuidedSMILE Lite uses plastic surgical guides, while the flagship CHROME GuidedSMILE and several other family members use metal (cobalt-chromium) guides. The eBook notes that the metal CoCr guides are engineered to be very strong and rigid; the Lite system trades the all-metal construction for a more affordable plastic-based design while preserving the guided workflow.
Here is how Lite compares with other members of the family:
| System | Guide Material | Ideal Application | Final Prosthesis |
|---|---|---|---|
| GuidedSMILE Lite | Plastic | Budget-conscious cases | Ivotion® PMMA (upgradeable) |
| CHROME GuidedSMILE (Full) | Metal (CoCr) | All patient types | Premium zirconia or nano-ceramic |
| GuidedSMILE Natural | Metal (scalloped) | High smile line, gummy smiles | Premium zirconia or nano-ceramic |
| GuidedSMILE Zygo | Metal (zygo design) | Zygomatic or pterygoid implants | Premium zirconia or nano-ceramic |
Design-option differences are also worth noting:
| System | Prosthesis Design Options | Additional Records |
|---|---|---|
| GuidedSMILE Lite | FP3 | No additional records |
| CHROME GuidedSMILE (Full) | FP3 / FP2 | No additional records |
| GuidedSMILE Natural | FP1 | High smile line measurement if applicable |
| GuidedSMILE Zygo | FP3 / FP2 / FP1 | CBCT scan must include the eye orbits |
