How does the One-Hour Design Service work, and what do I need to print in-house?

The One-Hour Design Service is the part of GuidedSMILE Digital that converts your captured records into a finished, printable prosthesis design quickly.

How the service works:

  1. You capture the digital records and IOS scans using the CombiGuide and Scanguide.
  2. The records are uploaded and sent to ROE's design team.
  3. Within about one hour (and as fast as 30 minutes with the single-scan technique), the team designs a prosthesis that precisely matches the surgical plan and implant placement.
  4. ROE returns the STL file to you.
  5. You print, cure, and polish the prosthesis in-house the same day.

Why turnaround is so fast:

The speed comes from pre-planning. Because the prosthesis files were already designed at ROE during planning, and because the Scanguide carries pre-established digital coordinates, the team simply re-introduces your single scan into the existing stack. This eliminates time-consuming manual registration and reduces cumulative tolerance errors.

What you need for in-house printing:

To take full advantage of the same-day modality, your practice needs a 3D printer, a post-curing unit, and polishing tools. ROE supports in-practice digital equipment through its Digitally Evolve Your Practice / Shining3D program, which includes 3D printers, post-curing and washing units, and validated printing materials and resins.

Scheduling reminder: Let ROE know your surgery date more than 48 hours before surgery to guarantee the expedited design return.
