How do I transition my patient into an overdenture after the implants are placed?
You can complete this work chairside (placing abutments, picking up the housings in the denture, and sending the patient home), but many doctors send the case to ROE. The path depends on whether abutments or attachments have already been seated. The two scenarios:
| Starting point | What ROE needs and provides |
|---|---|
| Implant level (no abutments or attachments seated yet) | Send an implant-level impression (digital or analog). ROE returns a processed base bite rim/bite block with the attachments built in, choosing the attachment/tissue height based on the tissue. ROE sends the attachments or abutments, or tells you which to order. |
| Abutment level (attachments or abutments already seated) | Send an abutment-level impression. ROE can supply the housings or pickup copings, or you can order them from your supply rep. |
From there, the sequence converges:
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Seat the attachments or abutments (if not already seated) |
| 2 | Seat the bite rim on top of the attachments, capture a bite and the opposing, and send the records to ROE |
| 3 | ROE returns a setup in wax for a try-in |
| 4 | After approval, ROE processes the final overdenture |
This mirrors ROE's typical removable record sequence and aligns with the product's stated 4 to 6 patient visits. For hands-on help, ROE offers Chairside Support.
