Overdenture Workflow: How to Insert and Remove LOCATOR Processing Spacers
The following workflow details the steps necessary for clinicians to insert and remove LOCATOR processing spacers
Overview
ArchBridge for Overdenture Scan Bodies are reusable titanium scanning components available in different geometries to facilitate scanner recognition and accommodate variations in available intraoral space and anatomy.
Each ArchBridge Scan Body incorporates an internal interface designed to receive the applicable Zest Processing Spacer. The Processing Spacer provides the interface between the ArchBridge Scan Body and the Zest LOCATOR abutment during intraoral use. The ArchBridge Scan Bodies are designed for use with the Zest Processing Spacer, P/N N2001657108. Use only the Zest Processing Spacer. Do not use alternative or third-party processing spacers, as they will not fit properly into the scan body and will not provide the seating and stability required for accurate positioning of the ArchBridge Scan Body.
The Processing Spacer is a single-use component which should be discarded after use and shall not be cleaned, sterilized, reprocessed, or reused. ArchBridge Scan Bodies are small components. Appropriate precautions shall be taken during intraoral placement and removal to minimize the risk of accidental swallowing or aspiration.

| 3. | Verify visually that the Processing Spacer is fully inserted and flush with the ArchBridge Scan Body. The white plastic should be exactly even with the outer metal rim of the scan body. | ![]() |
| Removing the Processing Spacer | ||
| 1. |
Use the Zest Enhanced LOCATOR & LOCATOR FIXED Systems Core Tool for this process.

| 2. |
Place the NON-ACTIVATED removal end of the tool into the insert and rotate counter-clockwise until you feel resistance, and then tighten an additional 1/4 turn. |

| 3. |
After 1/4 turn, hold the scan body assembly in one hand while simultaneously spinning the Core Tool clockwise by the black handle with your other hand for 5 or 6 turns. This cuts a groove in the insert that secures it to the handle. |

| 4. |
While holding the scan body, pull the Core Tool away from the scan body, removing the part. |

| 5. |
Once separated, rotate the handle clockwise, holding the removed scan insert, to deactivate the Core Tool and release the insert. |
