To date, Ohio’s only widespread testing has occurred at three state-run prisons, where every inmate and most staff members received tests. DeWine plans to ramp up testing at nursing homes and state developmental centers as well.
But DeWine announced in late April that Ohio’s testing woes were turning around. The state was contracting with Thermo Fisher Scientific, which would create the reagent chemicals needed for testing, and ROE Dental Laboratory in Cleveland for 1 million swabs.
