What records and files do I need to submit, and what is the case timeline?
A CombiGuide case follows ROE's standard surgical guide getting-started process:
| Step | What you do |
|---|---|
| Step 1 | Understand the records needed for CT planning (use ROE's surgical guide decision tree). |
| Step 2 | Export and send your DICOM to ROE. |
| Step 3 | Upload your case. |
| Step 4 | Sign the Master Surgical Agreement. |
From there, ROE designs the guide, holds an online meeting with you for design approval and sign-off, then produces and mails the guide. Plan for roughly 5 days planning plus 5 days production.
Critical CBCT scanning tips (these determine whether a guide can be planned at all):
| Patient type | CBCT requirement |
|---|---|
| Dentate | Always separate the arches with cotton rolls, a bite stick, or a CT bite fork. Never in occlusion. If the patient has mostly metal-based restorations, send models to ROE for a scan appliance. |
| Mostly edentulous | If the bite cannot be determined with full confidence, order bite blocks, a set-up, then a scan appliance. |
| Fully edentulous | Must be in occlusion. Do not separate the arches. A scan appliance is required (an existing denture with markers may work if the fit is excellent and there are no soft relines). |
For a photogrammetry CombiGuide case, the uploaded file set typically includes photos, the working arch, the opposing arch, scan flags, scan bodies, and the before/after registration captures with bites. A case proceeds only when all required files are uploaded, so confirm the full set before submitting. ROE's CBCT Dual Scan Protocol and Managing DICOMs pages cover the imaging requirements in detail.
