What steps should a practice take to have a patient case removed from 'on-hold' status?
In this situation, a patient’s case has been placed on-hold because either required information was missing or additional important questions are requiring an answer.
You would have been notified of this case status change in one or both of the following ways:
- You received the nightly email from ROE’s lab management system indicating that a specific patient case was placed on hold.
- You received a phone call from a ROE representative alerting you that a case was placed on hold.
Next Steps:
- Call or email ROE (see below) with patient name or case number (case numbers start with CN')
- Provide stump shade (e.g., "A3")
- Request that the case be taken off hold
- Lab updates the case and resumes production
- Example: "Stump shade A3, for patient Murray, please take off hold"
