On Friday, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced efforts to increase coronavirus testing in the state. DeWine said the shortage of coronavirus testing stems from not having enough swabs, and not having enough reagents for testing.
Earlier this week, DeWine named former Governors Dick Celeste and Bob Taft to the Ohio Coronavirus Testing Strike Team. DeWine says both Celeste and Taft had a major breakthrough working with Thermo Fisher, that will expand testing capacity in Ohio.
As for swabs, DeWine says a collaborative effort through the Ohio Manufacturers Association and Cleveland-based Roe Dental Lab.
