e.max is a monolithic restoration, meaning it is milled from a one-material block of dense ceramic. When e.max is produced in the manner it exhibits 360MPa, much less than a zirconia coping. Yet, e.max does not have stacked porcelain, arguably the weakest link in all restorations. For this reason, e.max may be the strongest restoration (with the exception of full gold) available today.
